I got the name during a vacation in September 1992 on Big
Island, Hawaii. We met a guy with whom I discussed a lot about the Stars
and the Universe (I was studying Astrophysics at this time).
Because we talked so much about the stars, this guy started calling me
Starman.
I then started using this name as callsign in various computer games.
After
I got my physics degree I left science and started a career in IT.
The name reminds of my past and of what I gave up.
Only recently, I found out that there is a cartoon hero called Starman. My Nickname has nothing to do with this cartoon character. I am a real person.
That's why I sometimes call myself "the real
starman".
